I read papers from students, I read info from my district, other teachers, and even sometimes parents. In addition, I read blogs from other educators and do my very best to follow my Twitter stream.

This is not meant to be a long diatribe or complaint, it is meant to show the joy that summer brings. When the school year is out have a much clearer view of the world - a slightly more self centered one. My reading becomes my own. I LOVE to read, and my pleasure reading is educational commentary and blogging. This has become my most effective way to grow as a professional, as a learner, as a teacher, and as a person.

Everyone should do it, no matter what their chosen career.
